Consulting

A major component of my doctoral training focused on community agencies that serve marginalized populations.  I have continued to do that work as an aspect of my professional practice.  That has included serving as consultant to non-profit agencies who are part of the fabric of care in Nashville, as in all cities.

“What struck me, again and again, was your collegiality and the way in which you engaged staff at all levels, and the youth themselves, as partners in the work. You brought to bear all that you knew in the service of our project, but you made space for others to have important expertise and insights too. You led with your humility, and shared space and power in the room.”

“[Dr. Hutton’s] background in clinical and community psychology brought a stronger awareness and consequent balance to the way we viewed and worked with all clients so that we considered not only their individual and relational well-being, but also the health and wellness within their community context.”
